Cadence is a performance hydration brand for athletes and goal-oriented individuals. We are looking for a Social Media Manager – Founder Brand to manage CEO & Founder Ross Mackay’s social media. This is an entry level role and opportunity to to help build and manage Ross’ personal brand, drive top of funnel awareness, and drive business goals. This is a fully remote role. However, we have a preference for candidates located near or in Los Angeles, CA.  

Role Overview:  

As the Social Media Manager – Founder Brand you will serve as the primary social media lead for Ross Mackay’s social media. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to be a part of the Cadence team and work closely with a founder and give their voice a platform that reaches athletes, investors, media, and future teammates. This role sits at the intersection of storytelling, brand strategy, and community.  

Key Responsibilities:   

Social Management:   

  • Own Cadence CEO Ross Mackay’s social content calendar  
  • Own day-to-day posting across Ross’ social media accounts (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter and emerging platforms) 
  • Play an integral role in owning, driving, and executing social content strategy across all key social media channels  
  • Own the content review & approval process. Partner with Ross, Director of Social & Brand Marketing, and creative team to create, review, and approve content - liaising as needed with internal stakeholders for content approvals or fact-checking.  

Content & Creative   

  • Collaborate with the broader Cadence marketing team to ensure founder content and plans aligns with brand campaigns and product moments 
  • Provide content recommendations to Ross, Creative team, and Director of Social & Brand  
  • Collaborate with paid media team to identify high-performing organic content suitable for paid amplification 
  • Collaborate with creative team to develop social content briefs and content engines 
  • Write sharp, platform-specific creative briefs that the content team can execute with confidence, and assess deliverables to ensure they deliver against their brief. 
  • Experience in capturing and editing Iphone-led creative is a plus  
  • Strong experience in TikTok content strategy is a plus   

Social Reporting, Insights, & Listening  

  • Monitor trends, platform algorithm shifts, and competitor founder accounts to stay ahead of what's working 
  • Analyze performance data weekly and optimize content strategy based on what's driving reach, engagement, and follower growth 
  • Translate performance insights into actionable content optimizations and growth opportunities 

You’ll Need 

  • 3+ years of social media experience (brand, agency, or founder).  
  • You have a sharp eye for design, video, and photo — you understand what makes content scroll-stopping 
  • Demonstrated conceptual ability in creative campaign thinking and storytelling.  
  • Excellent communication skills  
  • Highly organized & capable of handling various projects at the same time  
  • Capable of organizing and scheduling high volumes of social content  
  • Strong copywriting, creative judgment, and strategic mindset.  
  • Familiarity with analytics and scheduling tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Later).  
  • Passionate about health & fitness 

Success Looks Like:  

  • A strong social media strategy that drives and amplifies Ross’ personal brand and achieves set social KPI’s 
  • A highly successful and effective  
  • Managing the social media calendar effectively and owning the briefing to execution to posting content pipeline 
  • Capable of distribution and posting content at scale across social media channels without compromising content quality.
